“I didn’t even know that night I’d be proposing. In fact, I woke up that morning without a ring.” As we drove the beautiful property in Grosse Tete at the start of Holli + Chase’s engagement session, Chase explained his proposal to Holli in detail. He was excited to share with me how the unexpected day unfolded and I have to say it’s one of the most unique proposals I’ve heard (especially considering the day didn’t even start off with the intentions of a proposal in mind).
It was the day of Holli’s college graduation and on Chase’s lunch break, Holli reminded him to stop at the jewelry store to pick up a gift for his mom. But while there, he found himself drifting toward the rings (every girl’s dream for her man, right?). The jeweler began a conversation with Chase and after looking at many of the settings, stones, and engagement sets, Chase set his eyes on a specific ring, so the jeweler challenged Chase with the thought of “What’s are you waiting for?”
Taken a little aback, Chase had no answer. So he responded with…”Can you have it ready for 4?” He left the jewelry store and went to meet Holli and her dad for lunch. He barely ate, and still couldn’t quite comprehend what had just happened. As the work day came to an end, he made his way back to the jewelry store and picked up Holli’s ring.
The day had unfolded in the most unexpected, yet natural way and that night, in front of all of their closest friends and family, Chase asked Holli to be his wife.
The property where Holli + Chase opted to shoot their session was absolutely beautiful! I love the way the light pours in through the trees, and I’m obsessed with the horses and the barn area. The day was a bit warmer than we would have liked, but they toughed it out…and finished with a great session! 🙂 🙂 I’m happy to be able to share a preview of Holli + Chase’s engagement session:
Hi! Did yall have to get permission to shoot here or is this an actual historic home you can tour? I drove by it every week and have always thought it would be the perfect place for pictures! Please let me know 🙂
-Thanks in advance,
