Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
I grew up near City Park and have always loved it. I knew that if we got married in New Orleans, it would have to be there. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and the staff is amazing to work with.
What was your favorite wedding purchase?
I loved my shoes!!! I also loved the lace umbrellas we bought for our second-line (from Bella Umbrellas on Magazine St.) I love our wedding bands from Symmetry, especially the diamond one that was designed with them.
What was your best wedding day memory?
Our ceremony was so special. We had one of our best friends ordained in order to marry us and we still cannot get over how wonderful it was. It was also in the garden under the tree lit up by chandeliers. It could not have been a more beautiful night!! We also loved the Mardi Gras Indian Show/second line. They got everyone moving!

How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?
We wanted our wedding to be fun and personal. It started by having the best vendors! We feel like we made a personal connection with everyone we chose and were able to have the best team behind us. The rest was easy, being surrounded by our closest friends and family.
One detail that Jay and I really love was our guestbook. We (including our families) spent a lot of time gathering photographs of us. We compiled them into a our guestbook for our friends and families to go through and sign. It is so special to us!
A final detail we loved, though didn’t get to enjoy it to the fullest, was our cereal bar! Jay did not want a grooms cake. His favorite snack is cereal, so that’s what we had instead. It was awesome!
