Was this the dress you initially thought you’d wear for your wedding?
No way! I actually had no idea what I wanted when I went dress shopping but I did not expect to choose something like this. I kept telling my mom that I just wanted something “different”, rather than the same lace dresses I saw everyone else wearing. We went to Houston and visited a couple of shops before walking into BHLDN and I just knew I’d find my dream dress there! 

Tell Me About Your Dress! Why did you choose this look?
When I first put it on, I thought “yeah I like this”, but I wasn’t sold. I tried on a few more dresses and nothing felt like “the one” and my mom and bridesmaids kept encouraging me to try this one back on…so I did. When I put the dress on with the veil and jewelry, I immediately knew it was THE ONE. My mom also immediately started crying so of course that sealed the deal. I love the details of the lace and the top of the dress. It’s something I’ve never seen before and I feel like it fits my personality and overall vision for my wedding day! 

How do you feel when you put on your dress?
Absolutely AMAZING! The last time I had tried it on was about 2 months before my bridals so when I put it on with my hair and makeup done, I couldn’t stop looking in the mirror and dancing around the room! I know that I will feel the same day on my wedding day, and I absolutely cannot wait to see Jonathan’s face when I walk down the aisle towards him!

Why did you choose this particular bridal session location?
Well… I’ve been stalking Catherine’s photography for years, and I’ve seen several other people take pictures here and have always loved it. Once I got my dress, I KNEW Race and Religious had the be the spot for my bridals. It just fit with the look of my dress and was everything I envisioned. 

Any advice for future brides embarking on this wedding journey?
Enjoy every second! It goes by so slowly but also way too fast. I look forward to our wedding day but I know I will be so sad when all the planning and celebrating is over. Include your fiancé in wedding decisions – even if he says he doesn’t care…he cares!
