This week has been interesting. Even on days when things are not perfect…I can look at an image like this and smile. I don’t know of many other occupations that would allow me to spend an afternoon shooting at the zoo…or a morning assisting at an underwater shoot. In the same week, I have met with two wonderful couples that I’m excited to work with in 2012, wrapped up 2 sessions shot in the rain, photographed a friend tossing flour in a chef’s kitchen, photographed a bride in an opera house (that I’m still convinced is haunted)…AND I had a session of my own this week!
One of my favorite aspects of wedding photograpy is the opportunity for newness. Meeting new people, shooting in new venues, and encoutering new challenges.
I was just talking with a friend of mine about the week. Both being a part of the wedding industry, we agreed that wedding season is officially back in full swing. 🙂 And as busy as I’ll be, I’m excited for what’s to come. I hope this feeling of newness never goes away because while it’s here, I’m enjoying it.
Today, I was thinking about the word Appreciation. And forgive me if this takes the blog in an entirely different direction. But I was thinking that there always must be a balance. Because not everything is “Awesome!!, Fabulous!!!, Amazing!, or Grand!!!!!—followed by a series of smiley faces 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 :)”. In fact, some days or moments can be difficult. BUT…if I CHOOSE to approach life with a sense of appreciation and happiness (followed by lots of smiley faces), the positive feelings can still exist!
It’s not easy and sometimes its harder than others….but learning to be thankful and to have appreciation is definitely a must for me. It’s my challenge to myself today and you know I love a challenge.
SO…..for now…I’m APPRECIATING this feeling of constant NEWNESS. And hoping it never goes away.
As a random side note, I want his eyelashes.
Hahaha. I love yoU! 🙂
