When I was born, my mom named me after Saint Catherine. Maybe she thought that by naming me after a saint I would be more saint-like. But I think by the time I could walk and talk she most likely felt differently…and probably pretty far from what she thought would be the perfect little girl. I never liked baby dolls I MUCH preferred stuffed animals. And shopping (although it’s definitely grown on me over time) was never my favorite Saturday past-time.
My name Catherine quickly changed to Cat when I got heavily involved in sports in high school. And by the time I got to college, even my architecture professors new me as Cat Guidry. If I was ever being recognized for anything it was always Cat. The funny this is…I always felt like that name fit me better. It was short…quick to say and much more fitting to my personality. [But just as a side not, I still really wish I could change my name to Charlie…]
So, it was a bit funny when I decided to go by my full name Catherine for my business. It’s definitely not a decision that I regret because I feel that it represents the professional attitude with which I approach my business and the overall look and feel of what I do. But you know, there are times when I miss “Cat.” Not just the name…but the silliness of it. Of Me. 🙂
If you are client of mine, then you already know that I love to have fun and make jokes and I LOVE to laugh. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Today as I was flipping through my images from this year’s WPPI convention, I came across a few that made me laugh. We went to dinner in Las Vegas and what I remember most about that night was just having fun!!! So much fun.
