Valentine’s Day is one of the best…and the worst days of the year. Personally, I’m a huge fun of L.O.V.E. in general, so this post will tend to air on the happy side. Although I do realize that there is lots of sadness on Valentine’s Day as well so I try to do my best to remember this while I write.
For me, I’m using this Valentine’s Day to learn a lesson about myself. I feel like the buildup for Valentine’s Day has been on my mind a lot the past few days….and the anticipation of it has definitely been everywhere I look. I realized this week how easy it is to get caught up in having expectations and unsaid anticipation to be swooned over.
Let’s be honest, what woman DOESN’T love to be swept off her feet?!!! And yes, that is nice…but is it what matters?
The funny thing is….what hit me hardest today was the video on the google home page. lol….If you haven’t seen it yet, you should check it out: http://www.google.com/Β . The video was the BEST reminder that it’s not about the flowers, the teddy bears, the balloons, and the chocolates. It’s about spending time together; doing things as a couple.
And if you’re NOT in a relationship, then use Valentine’s Day as a day to spend with those you love: whether that be your friends or your family. π There are lots of people who have a sour attitude on Valentine’s Day either because they’re IN a relationship and disappointed with the outcome of the day….or not in a relationship and wishing they were.
Instead of being unhappy on a day full of love….let’s all make a promise to ourselves to do our best at being happy and appreciating what we DO have. So, with that being said, “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY” to each of you!!!! π π
On another note, I know this is a special year for all of my couples for 2012. I want to wish you guys an extra special Valentine’s to you and your fiance’!
