Katie + Tyler first met in 2005. Katie was in high school at the time and Tyler was just starting out as a freshman at LSU. They clicked initially, having spent Mardi Gras together…and they continued to get to know each other into the summer months. In the summer of 2009, they reconnected and have been inseparable since.
They loved to road trip, sing, dance, and laugh together; Katie + Tyler could easily be described as soulmates. They are the ying to each other’s yang: truly a perfect fit. And it was really awesome to photograph these two; obviously best friends in love.
Long before their wedding, Katie + Tyler talked about getting married at the St. Louis Cathedral.
This June 28, 2014….those dreams came true.
Katie + Tyler’s wedding could be described as vintage and timeless…they used a natural color palette with hints of blue and yellow. And they had so many personalized details from the toasting glasses to the pecan pies (Katie’s parents even surprised them with Pinkberry!)
Katie LOVES vintage decor (and Tyler loves everything Katie loves)… 🙂 …so it was the perfect vision for their day. Their personalities were most incorporated into their attire: Katie’s gown belonged to her mother (be sure to checkout her bridals if you haven’t already) and she wore blue pointed-toe watercolor heels. Tyler wore seer sucker and bowties, which showed off his outgoing and fun personality. It was so NOLA and I loved it.
Katie + Tyler’s favorite wedding purchase was their cake…the topper was probably my favorite : two super cute and fun polaroids of them! The decor was all DIY including bird cases and personalized prints. They also made their own programs, flower girl basket and ring bearer pillow.
The wedding day couldn’t have gone more smoothly and at the end of it all…MOST importantly, Katie + Tyler were married. I felt super privileged to have had the opportunity to photograph these two…and I wish them both all the happiness in the world.
They surely deserve it. Congratulations to The Jensen’s!
