I showed up at the Shamrock Shootout right here in Lafayette, LA, and my camera LCD display was black taped.
For any of you who have EVER used a digital camera (whether it’s your small point & shoot or a professional digital camera),
you may not realize how much you take for granted the immediacy and convenience of checking your back screen.
For someone like me who shoots completely on manual, I definitely rely on my back screen to inform my next shot.
Every image in this series was shot without the ability to check my image after it was taken. I had to rely 100%
on previous knowledge of camera settings as well as the in camera metering. Unlike my typical sessions,
there was no use of off camera lighting, solely natural light and reflectors. This was a great learning experience
and I suggest everyone do this at least once to try…after all, what if your backscreen goes out and you HAVE to survive without it!
Comments are always welcome and appreciated! 🙂

How do you find out about all these things?
Hey Hannah!
This function was put on by the Professional Photographers Guild of Acadiana. They send out the information to all of their members.
