It’s funny how you meet people, interact with them…and then one day, you’re shooting their wedding. 😉 Or…at least that’s what happened with my friendship with Emily + Derek!
I’ve known Emily only in passing as we were neighbors for quite some time. And I never would have thought that one day, I’d be photographing her wedding (but I’m SO happy I am!!!) It’s been such a fun experience already and I cannot wait for their wedding!
Derek proposed to Emily on a cruise this past August to Cozumel. It was just the two of them and although Emily’s friends and family hinted that he might propose, she quickly dismissed their comments. She knew Derek was the love of her life, and her best friend but was patient while waiting for the right moment.
One evening after dinner after dinner (after planning such an amazing and extravagant trip for them)…Derek walked Emily up to the top of the cruise ship where he sat down beside her. After talking about their relationship and their incredible love, Derek asked her to stand.
When she did, he asked her if she wanted to know the REAL reason he booked the trip? And he followed that by asking her to marry him!
Emily + Derek have such a fun love. They’ve share with me their love for fishing, camping, and being outdoors. They both love to hangout with friends/family…and care so much for animals. And, if you ask me, they’re both just level-headed awesome people to be around!!!
