Was this the dress you originally thought you’d wear for your wedding?
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what type of dress I would wear. The only thing I knew is that I didn’t want it to be super big!
Tell us about your dress! Why did you choose this look?
When I started trying on dresses, after about the first 30, I narrowed it down to the shape that flattered my body the best (which is not the shape I thought it would’ve been). Then after 50 more dresses, I really started to get discouraged that I wasn’t going to find the right one…then BAM! It hit me like a ton of bricks and I cried like a baby.
How do you feel when you put on your dress?!
Amazing, flawless, beautiful, stunning…all of those things that brides are supposed to feel in their wedding dress! Every time I put it on, I never want to take it off!.
Why did you choose this particular bridal session location?
It’s home. My parent’s house is absolutely gorgeous and it’s one of the places that myself and Charlie can both relax and be ourselves. I wanted that same feeling during my session.
Any advice for future brides embarking on this wedding journey?
One of the hardest things for me to let go of was the need to please everyone else. With differences in opinions coming at you from every direction (solicited and unsolicited), you have to learn to let go of what you think will please everyone else and what makes you happy. As terrible as this may sound, I picked 4 people close to me (my mom, my grandmother, and my 2 best friends) and I (tried to) only take their opinions to heart. These 4 women know me better than anyone and I trust them implicitly to have my best interests at heart.
