Susan + Adam’s story began while she was in dental school…in Ohio, in fact. From their first date, they were inseparable. Even on their walk through the Columbus gallery exhibit, three dates into their relationship, the connection was “insane” as Susan describes it. They have the best conversations and simply couldn’t imagine their lives without the other.

For Adam + Susan, being together is “easy”…they get along, and it just works! Adam cooks…Susan eats. See! A perfect fit. πŸ˜‰ But really, even as someone who has just come into their lives as their wedding photographer, I can see it in the way they interact and it truly comes through in their images!

Susan + Adam’s wedding was a mix of Susan’s Persian culture and Adam’s American background. They incoporated traditions and aspects of who they are into the ceremony, and even had hand written vows (or technically “digitally” written…if you count Susan’s ipad) πŸ˜‰ ! Visually, every detail was executed and their Fall wedding couldn’t have been more perfect.

We’ll start their wedding preview off with Susan’s fabulous pair of Jimmy Choo Shoes!!!

Susan’s jewelry was absolutely beautiful, and her ring…AH!

From the beginning Susan knew that she wanted to incoporate purple and other bright fall colors into her wedding. This was so wonderfully expressed through her flowers.

Susan got ready at the Ritz overlooking the courtyard…so she was able to see her wedding coming together Β right before her eyes.

Susan’s bridesmaids were all so sweet…and they had such a fun time together celebrating Susan’s special day.

Susan and Adam decided to write their own vows…here, Susan was just finishing hers and rereading before the ceremony began.

Just before Susan put on her gown, a package was delivered: a surprise gift from Adam. It was a hat, that Susan had really wanted…and Adam surprised her with it. Even the wrapping paper was thoughtfully planned.

Meanwhile, Amelia was in another area of the Ritz with Adam while he got ready for the wedding!

Susan ALSO had a surprise for Adam….this AWESOME painting! LOVE.

Something that I found very unique and a detail that I really enjoyed was the fact that their dresses were slightly off shade. Maybe one day, I’ll incorporate this idea into my own wedding. πŸ™‚

Studly.

How cute is this?!

Just before their wedding began, Persian music filled the courtyard!

Not only did Susan + Adam so nicely execute their vision, even their guests had some unique details of their own!

Below, the colorful area is also known as the Sofreh. Feel free to read more about the Persian weddingΒ and what these details mean on my previous blog post.

Adam’s reaction to seeing Susan for the first time was priceless; this, ladies and gentlemen is what you would call a “jaw dropping” reaction! πŸ™‚

Can you blame him? Susan is stunning!!!

While I photographing the processional, Amelia grabbed this shot below as Susan approached Adam.

Susan’s father conducted the Persian portion of the ceremony.

Hearing Adam’s attempts to speak Persian was a big hit among the guests.

They dipped their pinkies into honey toward the end of the Persian ceremony to bring sweetness to their marriage.

Adam’s father led the American portion of the ceremony.

Adam read his vows to Susan…I believe here he mentioned something along the lines of promising to cook for Susan. πŸ˜‰

Although there were emotional moments as well..

Susan also read her vows to Adam, causing tears….

The Kiss!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Adam Dennis!

In the last few minutes of daylight, we spent some time photographing on Canal! The wonderful thing about having a second photographer is the unique perspective. As I stood in front and they focused on me, Amelia grabbed this angle.

This is one of my favorite shots of the day!

Susan requested a “shoe shot”…;) How fabulous is Susan + Adam’s style?

Although in the heart of New Orleans, we made sure to incorporate a bit of greenery. πŸ™‚

Susan you are gorgeous!!!

After the ceremony, we all moved inside of the Ritz Ballroom for their reception!

Susan + Adam’s First Dance as husband and wife.

LOVE

Their wedding cake was SOOOO lovely!

A tradition in the Persian culture is the knife dance. The guests dance around with the knife and Adam has to try to retrieve it. He does so by giving out money….

Following the knife dance and cake cutting, there were toasts. These are two of Susan’s oldest friends and bridesmaids who shared their fun and sentimental memories. πŸ™‚ They showed their support and love through their words.

It was so much fun to see their reactions!

Then, Susan’s sister gave her speech…a touching one, which left some in tears.

Susan + Adam’s reception ….was.a.PARTY! There was SO much dancing!!!!

The Newlyweds!
