Who would have thought that soulmates could meet on an average night, an average night with no connection other than the simply common bond of a mutual friend. In the small town of New Iberia, on that average/typical/everyday night, Amy + Brent met.
On the night of their wedding, we talked a bit about how incredible it was that they were brought together. That everything lined up, and they somehow came to be in the same place at the same time…and now, they are husband and wife eternally.
From day one, their connection was instant. They spoke about how they had that spark and the following day were already making plans to spend time together again. And again. And again. And now….over a year and a few months later, they’re husband and wife.
Amy + Brent wanted a Simple/Classic wedding that was FUN, unforgettable, and filled with the love and emotion that they have for each other, their family, and their friends. As their photographer, and the person who spent that entire day documenting those unforgettable moments, I would say their wedding turned out to be all they wanted and more:
Our day began at the carriage house. While the girls were getting ready I grabbed a few details shots using the beautiful modern decor at the hotel as the perfect backdrops.
I adored Amy’s flowers! 🙂 So simple and beautiful.
And while I was with Amy & the ladies, Amelia was with Brent and his groomsmen documenting the moments in between there as well.

I have to give a special shout out to the matron of honor, Beth Viator (on the right). I photographed she and George’s wedding, then their maternity session, and now they have a beautiful baby girl!!!!
They are an amazing couple and it’s so special that now I’ve photographed both her wedding AND Amy’s. 🙂 🙂 🙂

The ceremony and reception was held at The Pavilion at River Oaks. I adore the drapery.
Amy’s 2nd favorite detail (just after her dress) was her exquisite and tasty cake by Sweet Southern Ladies.

The exchanging of the vows was so sweet. And seeing the emotion (even from Brent’s daughter Lexi) was just beautiful.

Just after the ceremony, we spent some time in the gardens of River Oaks doing a short session. This (and the sessions that follow first looks) have become one of my favorite parts of the day.
It gives us the opportunity to create beautiful images of the bride and groom on their wedding day!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I took these shots using nothing but the lights of the lamp…giving it the moody and romantic feeling of love. This is my favorite shot of the day.

So…I think this is incredibly cool. Amy + her mom made wedding favors for their guests.
These mustache and lip chocolates were cast into molds and given to the guests! Not only are they adorabe but also super fun to photography!
The night ended with this beautiful sparkler exit!!!

You guys are such an inspiration. You are proof that true love exists and that happiness is real. I can only imagine what beautiful and wonderful things you have to come in your future. Thank you for choosing me to photograph your bridals (Amy), your engagements, and now…your wedding day. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS PICTURES!!!!! These pics were different for me to look at from looking at any of your other weddings, Cat, since it’s my bestie!!!! I never thought I would see Amy AS HAPPY as she is!!!! I cried at almost every picture because they represent the love between Amy and Brent so vividly! I remember the day Amy told me she knew she was going to marry Brent and how SURE she was about that!!! What an awesome couple, a storybook wedding, phenomenal photographer ( both professionally and personally) and incredible pictures!!!! Oh and where did u take the pics with the rings?? It’s killing me trying to figure that out!!!
