Technically, she met her soulmate at 16…they bothΒ lived in baton rougeβ¦Michelle attending Bishop and Jonathan at Catholic. They had several mutual friends but didnβt meet until the night of an LSU game when their ride left them at a local hangout.
They walked together, talking and getting to know one another and by the end of the night he asked her for her number. In the time that followed they began talking on the phone and continuing their relationship. She said she knew he was a special guy when he was the first to ask her about her first day at nursing school.
Heβs the nicest guy she knows and describes Jonathan as someone who genuinely loves those around him. It took them about 6 months to realize that what they had was true love…a huge turning point in their relationship. πΒ Jonathan and Michelle are such a perfect match for one another..their personalities really fit together and have common interests in everything from their love for travel to their desire to live a happy and unique life of their own.
For their wedding day, Michelle + Jonathan incorporated Jonathan’s favorite color : GREEN as well as a neutral (charcoal grey) into their color palette. There were a variety of fun things for the guests including everything from a snowball machine…to a photo booth. π They wanted a wedding that was unique, fun and personal…and that was most definitely achieved. Even their string quartet during the ceremony played songs like “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Amber.” For their engagements, we incorporated aspects relevant to their wedding day like their jeep and the snowballs so that they could place images of them next to the cake and snowball machine.
The day didn’t go exactly as planned, with their ceremony being moved indoors due to rain but it was every bit of perfect and wonderful.
Michelle wore her grandmother’s pearls on her wedding day….
I adored the bouquets for Michelle + Jonathan’s wedding. They were so beautiful and so different.
It was POURING at the start of their wedding day….this was taken just as Michelle was walking into the venue. Smiling…despite the rain. π
Meanwhile, Amelia spent time with Jonathan and his groomsmen as they were getting ready. (Notice the ipad playing a youtube video of “How to Tie a Bowtie” LOL
….I guess youtube worked!
White Oak is such a beautiful venue…and the bridal suite is perfect for getting ready.
Michelle + Jonathan opted to do a First Look!!!! π I LOVE a First Look. It gives the bride and groom a chance to see each other before the wedding….
and give each other their true reaction to seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day.
Just LOOK at Jonathan’s face when he saw Michelle for the first time. π LOVE.
Michelle was just as excited…and looking stunning as always.
From Amelia’s perspective, she was able to grab this shot of Michelle + Jonathan when they first embraced during the First Look.

When Michelle was waiting to walk down the aisle, Amelia grabbed this shot of her in the bridal room.
And this was the moment she walked out.
Armand is Michelle + Jonathan’s best friend. And it was SO special for them that he could participate in the wedding as their officiant.
I also had the pleasure of shooting Armand + Katy’s wedding 2 years ago so it was really wonderful to see them again here at Michelle + Jonathan’s wedding.

After the wedding, everyone gathered in the bridal suite to congratulate the couple.
This is another of my favorite shots from the wedding. Just as the sun was setting, we went out front to grab this image….as the lights were just starting to come on.

Everyone had such a blast at the wedding….and in the photo booth.
I’m happy that they had the chance to enjoy all aspects of their wedding as well. π …including the snowballs!

Thank you for allowing Amelia and I to be there…documenting your wedding day and witnessing so many beautiful moments throughout. I wish you two a lifetime of happiness…traveling the world and loving each other along the way.
