I’m not even sure where to being with Tuoi + Spencer. I was immediately taken by these two…I adore Tuoi’s sweet and outgoing personality. And it’s the perfect compliment to Spencer’s laid-back and accommodating ways! Tuoi kept me posted throughout the wedding process through texts and random messages…and always left me feeling really involved and connected. <–I DEFINITELY feel like I’ve gained new friends. 🙂 A few months later, we found ourselves in Disney World at the Grand Floridian…doing their first look and photo shoot.
I could go on and on about them…and how much I have loved every moment of working with these two. I really couldn’t say enough.
Tuoi + Spencer met their junior year of high school in their confirmation class at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. It wasn’t long until they were completely smitten with one another and began dating. Over the past several years, they’ve experienced college together, graduated, and are now pursuing their professional careers. This year, they even spent several months apart as Spencer traveled overseas.
Tuoi says that she most admires Spencer for his humor and utmost loyalty to her and it’s so incredibly obvious that Spencer is completely taken by Tuoi as well.
I’m happy that they’ve found their “one” and honored that they chose Amelia and I to document their wedding day.
And OH! The wedding. It was absolutely beautiful!!! The color palette was Navy, Orange, Ivory, and Teal…and it all came together with SO many lovely details created by Tuoi’s talented sister Thao! <—she’s amazing!!!! Their day was elegant and natural…and there wasn’t a spot left untouched.
I am so excited to share the details of their day!!!

Tuoi’s bridal party really took care of her. I loved seeing how much they loved her and wanted her day to be perfect!
This was my first time photographing a Vietnamese wedding! At the start of the day, Spencer and the rest of the groomsmen lined up for the presentation of the gifts at the Tea Ceremony.
All of Tuoi + Spencer’s family and friends gathered in the living room for the ceremony. The was the moment that Tuoi was presented to Spencer.
Tuoi’s father spoke to Spencer and his father during the tea ceremony as he gave his daughter away.
Each of the gifts presented had special meaning and well wishes for the couple.
Tuoi’s mother presented Tuoi with the jewelry for the wedding, an emotional moment for them both.
Following the tea ceremony, we headed to the church for their formal photos. I love when couples opt to do a first look, because I feel especially able to capture beautiful natural light images without rushing before the wedding.
How adorable?!
Their first kiss as husband and wife!
Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Robichaux
Ah! Love these!!!
Thao did such a beautiful job with the details for her sister’s wedding! I was blown away.
The colors and theme were carried out in every detail!
I think their mailbox idea for wedding cards was my favorite wedding detail! It really fit the style of their day!
And the candy bar….get out! So cute!
The cupcake display was beautiful!!!
Their first dance!
So, Tuoi’s bridesmaid Kim created her one of the sweetest, most thoughtful wedding gifts I’ve seen. During their dinner, she projected a slideshow onto the wall of their relationship from the start, as well as photos of congratulations and well wishes from their friends and family.
Just before the toasting, Tuoi changed into traditional Vietnamese wear.
For the toasting, Tuoi + Spencer went around to every table as their guests raised a glass to them.
The newlyweds!!!
[…] Tuoi’s wedding was beautiful! And I’m not just saying that because I helped decorate it! She chose to go with a rustic, vintage style, incorporating burlap and lace throughout. Her color picks included navy and orange with touches of teal. Everything came together on the day of the wedding with the help of a lot of family and friends, and I hope it was everything they envisioned! You can see for yourself–check out these lovely pictures taken by her talented photographer, Catherine Guidry. […]
