What three adjectives best describe your wedding?
Colorful, Delicious, and a BLAST
Tell us about your wedding venue(s) and why you chose to get married there.
We got married at our church. We met the associate pastor, Tim, in a new member class a while back and instantly felt a connection. He’s a great guy and we knew we wanted him to perform our ceremony. We decided to use the church instead of another venue because it’s a nice building that sits on a pretty piece of property right outside of the hustle and bustle of Baton Rouge. Also, I love the arch above the doors that you see when walking up to the front doors!
What was your favorite wedding purchase?
My dress was my favorite purchase, for sure! My dress was a custom design by my good friend, Natasha Miller, who I met in design school at LSU. The brooch that was sewn at my waist I actually purchased on a trip to New York City with Natasha about 5 years ago, not realizing that one day it would be on the wedding gown she created for me! The process of creating the dress starting from sketches, all the way to the final fitting, was so much fun!
What was your best wedding day memory?
I had the best time dancing to Phat Hat with Deane and all of our friends and family at the reception. Also, my cousin Harrison sang at our ceremony which was very special to me. I heard him sing at another cousin’s wedding many years ago and from that moment on I hoped that one day he would sing at my own.
My wedding photography was also very important to me! Not only am I obsessed with documenting memories with great pictures, but my parents lost their wedding pictures when the film was exposed to light when processing. We have one picture of them cutting their cake and that’s the only memory we have photographed from their wedding. I grew up hearing this story and always knew that I would not sacrifice when it came to wedding photography! Catherine is so amazing both in her photography talent and her sweet personality! I knew when she photographed my best friend’s wedding two years ago that I wanted her to photograph my own wedding. I actually planned my wedding date around Catherine’s schedule and it was so worth it!! :)Did you create any details yourself? How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?

How did you incorporate your personalities into the wedding?
I designed our programs and koozies, if that counts. And I put together the sign-in table tribute to our parents’, grandparents’, and great-grandparents’ wedding days. We used music from some of our favorite movies for the ceremony (Disney movies, Jurassic Park, Steel Magnolias, Forrest Gump). And Jordan’s groom’s cake was modeled after their fantasy football trophy, which is a literal tree stump.
