Was this the dress you initially thought you’d wear for your wedding?
I KNEW I’d be wearing a fitted dress for sure, because I did NOT want a whole bunch of “poof”. I initially thought that I’d have quarter length sleeves on my dress because my arms are my “problem area”. Turns out when I saw the material to my arms, it just did not flatter me at all! I knew right then that the long sleeves were a NO go, BUT I was not going totally strapless either.. 😉 My vintage “off the shoulder” sleeves were material that we purchased with my dress and my wonderful seamstress put them together perfectly. Turns out they were my FAVORITE detail to my gown.

Tell Me About Your Dress! Why did you choose this look?
I chose this look because it really flattered my body. Throughout life, I’ve always had curves! My dress really did a great job at expressing who I am. It was very “becoming” and beautiful. I just felt AMAZING in my gown!

How do you feel when you put on your dress?
When I put on my dress for the first time and looked in the mirror, in that moment I just felt joy and peace. Not only did I feel beautiful in my gown, but in that very moment I was reminded of God’s blessings over my life. I took that moment to just thank God for his grace and mercy. It was the most refreshing feeling and one that I will never forget.

Why did you choose this particular bridal session location?
I chose City Park in New Orleans because I had seen previous work from Catherine’s Bridal blogs and I just felt completely in love with the gardens and her photos there. The flowers were in full bloom when we went and the day was beautiful! Everything was great!!

Q. Any advice for future brides embarking on this wedding journey?
I think that the best advice I can give to my future brides is to never forget what truly matters. When planning a wedding, there will be times where you want to “throw in the towel”. Just remember to pray and keep focused on what God has done for you. You are blessed with amazing family and friends and God will work out your struggles no matter how tough they can be. He will always bring peace and comfort to situations that seem overwhelming and He will always work things out in his favor. Smile and enjoy the process!!
