Should I get my hair done for the session?

The sun rose and I woke up with a smile; a day at the salon is a favorite day for me. And because I am also planning a shoot…for myself….I was on a mission. Saturday was a special day; I was able to try something new. 🙂 As I have slowly drifted away from the blonde that I wore for so long, I have begun to miss the fun and excitement of doing something different at the salon.

Like all of my couples, I am currently shopping for the perfect outfits (I always love when I have a good excuse for new clothes), testing the “perfect” look, and practicing my hair style.  😉 I am frequently asked by clients how to prepare, and a salon visit is a definite recommendation.

If you have an upcoming engagement or bridal session and especially for your wedding day, I STRONGLY encourage you to get your hair styled! 🙂 I have been blessed to work with BEAUTIFUL brides; and I always want them to feel strong, confident, and gorgeous!!!! These pictures are going to last a lifetime, so “If you’re going to do it, do it big, right?!” 😉

And being that I’m taking new head shots soon….yes, I will be on the other side of the camera for a change…I can truly testify to this recommendation. I’m honestly not thrilled to be the one photographed; however, I know I’ll have a ton of fun and I absolutely cannot WAIT for the finished product (which makes the process TOTALLY worth it). And I want to look my best. 🙂 🙂

Meet Lanie:

Those that know me, know I like to change things up…constantly. I am always trying new things and looking to stay in tune with the latest trend. And Lanie has done that for me. She’s got to be the sweetest and most honest woman who’s SO good at her job. She’s a master with color…seriously, the girl can do anything. And I know she can always achieve the look I’m going for. She’s pretty much done it all with my hair already…..lol I just look at this picture of her and it truly makes me smile. I think part of the reason I like going to the salon is just to catch up with her! 🙂 Isn’t she beautiful?

Lanie works at Salon Bazaar (337) 267-7344. If you’re looking for a stylist, I would strongly recommend her. All of the girls that work at the salon are SO much fun; and usually have a few interesting stories to tell. 🙂

“La Belle Vie” is written above the door; it’s a French saying when translated means “The Beautiful Life.” The girls here live by that saying, they all enjoy life, and create a nice environment at the salon.
