OHHH man. I just received news that WE are being featured on the COVER of the Independent’s Spring 2013 Issue of Acadiana Brides!!!! What. An. Honor! To say that I am stoked would be an understatement. In moments like this, I just want to jump and high five a few people.
On a serious note, we really are ALL so honored and excited. If you read my most recent post on the February backdrop, I referenced a styled shoot as the source for this month’s backdrop collaboration with Val Marie Paper. Well, this was the shoot! The original intention for this session was to photograph a sample of Mia (Root Floral Design)’s floral headpieces. She collaborated with Sophie of Joli Petale to create a beautiful design (which matched her floral bouquet.) Sara Buteaux did hair and makeup for Hailey Deas (our model) and I was honored to be asked to photograph.
The images were to be used for an advertisement but when the editor of the independent saw the images, she requested a full length in addition. (One close-up I am especially obsessed with). I gladly obliged….only to find out that we had been chosen for the COVER! ……………………..WHAT?! #isthisreallife?
I cannot believe it! Seeing the design is especially overwhelming. It makes me so happy to know that our long nights, crazy perseverance and collaborations pay off. I am thankful to Robin of the Indendent for giving us this opportunity and I’m looking forward to the release.
