366 days after Ryan + Melissa’s first encounter at the hospital where Melissa worked, Ryan proposed. It was in the middle of the dance floor at his grandmother’s 80th birthday party, in front of SO many friends and family, that he asked Melissa to be his wife.
The start of their relationship and their proposal were especially unique because it involved both of Ryan’s grandmothers.
Getting to know Ryan + Melissa has been such a pleasure. They’re both really easy-going and seem to just take life in stride, hand in hand. I feel connected to these two through so many other past couples I’ve worked with and I feel honored to be working with them as well. 🙂
Their engagement session was held on the lovely grounds of Jungle Gardens! Ryan + Melissa also decided to incorporate a SUPER cool prop: an ivory, vintage truck. In addition, Melissa brought along her wedding quilt.
Melissa’s wedding quilt was made by her grandmother but with the helping hands of her mom and other relatives. When each of her grandmother’s granddaughters marry, they’re gifted with a quilt! I thought it was pretty cool that Melissa was able to incorporate hers into the shoot!
I’m looking forward to photographing this wedding but in the meantime below are a few of my favorites from their session!:::
