It was Ashley’s birthday so John took her out to dinner to celebrate. He had a wonderful evening planned with the night ending at his house on the lake.
At the time, his home was still under construction. Coincidentally, so was the other house just beside it. So, when John agreed to let Ashley’s friends help with the proposal, no one had anticipated the potential of them mixing up the homes in the darkness.
Thankfully, in JUST enough time, Ashleys best friends made it to the correct home to help with setting up candles and drinks for John + Ashley. John walked Ashley up the stairs and led her down the wrap around porch to the side of his three story home. It was there that he told her how much he loved her. He told her that she’s the best thing that has ever happened to him and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
Ashley, completely surprised, realized that he was proposing just as he dropped to his knee and asked her to be his wife. She placed the beautiful ring on her finger and they finished the night drinking and enjoying each other.
Because that’s what they do: they enjoy each other’s company. John is silly, and Ashley laughs. Ashley is laid-back and John keeps things in order. They are like peanut butter and Jelly. 😉 (Yes, I really just said that.)
So, I’m thrilled to share their engagement session that we shot this past Sunday in Lake Charles:
Ashley + John,
It was so great spending the afternoon shooting with the two of you! I adore your relationship and the fun you have with each other. It’s so wonderful to be working with a fabulous couple like the two of you!
Catherine
Catherine! These pictures are gorgeous! You continue to amaze me! Random question – did John mention if he had a brother/cousin/relative who is a priest?? He looks JUST like the associate pastor at my church!!
To be honest, I’m not sure!!! I’ll have to ask him! And thanks for the comment, Kayla. 🙂 Have a great day!
So, my random observation is her awesome nail polish! And, of course, I love the images!
