Life in this moment, is fun. It’s real…and RAW. Life today, is full of anticipation and dreams, moments that I cannot wait to experience.
Life in this moment, is unknown, unprecedented…and free of preconceived notions. Today, life is good…and feels light and airy.
I glanced at the past two weeks of shooting on my calendar, and I giggled a little to myself when I thought of all that’s happened. There are so many ironic or funny memories on wedding and shoot days…that I just don’t talk about. Maybe it’s the reserved side of me, or the prideful side, the one that wants to believe that I am always 100% professional and never make mistakes. But the truth is….the stories are pretty amuzing. Amelia’s lucky enough to hear about every detail (if she’s not there to see), but I thought it’d be fun to share a few in today’s post.
- Two weeks ago, I crawled under a home that was raised up off the ground to get the groom’s ring out from underneath. It was probably about 20-30 ft of dirt with about a 3-4 ft crawl space. In darkness. I crawled out covered in dirt from head to toe, but I had the ring! And the father of the bride is still laughing about it.
- For the Val Marie Paper Shoot, we jammed to the song Call Me Maybe 4 times…and liked it. 😉
- At Allison + Peter’s engagement session, I stood outside in the mud with my jeans tucked into a pair of Allison’s cowboy boots, to get the shot. My outfit, was BEYOND geeky.
- During the same shoot, I went to get a bit of height from standing on a pile of brush , and fell in it.
- At Michelle + Jonathan’s wedding, I called the groom by his brother’s name and told him to wrap his arms around Michelle (the groom’s wife). <–at least they laughed…along with the 20 others crammed under the porch of White Oak.
- At the Pater reception, I had to continue telling myself to stand still…because darn it, at receptions, I JUST wanna dance!
- About a week and half ago, I photographed a children’s rock camp, and secretly dreamed that I could sing….and grow up to become the next Sarah Mclaghlin.
I love the color and the style of this stationary set. Val is beyond talented and I cannot wait to show more images!!!
