On this 750th blog post…I thought it’d be fun to announce the launch of the new blog design.
But before I begin diving into the things I love so much about the new design, I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Tyler and his team at Pixelbrush Studios. They are a local web design company (in Lafayette, LA) that has MORE than surpassed my expectations for the blog: which is not a short list of ideas. They were a pleasure to work with, fast…and super accomodating. Need I say more?
My blog has become a way to document not only my work but my journey in photography as well. I’ve blogged my travel (something I thoroughly enjoy) and milestones in my personal life as well! I feel like I’ve grown because I write and I write to continue growing.
Ever since the launch of my new website (which was actually a few months before the OFFICIAL announcement this week) I have been anxious to update the blog as well. And it feels good to finally check that off the list. I consider my website the introduction to who I am as a photographer and the blog a deeper look into who I am as a person.
Pixelbrush truly nailed it. The site is clean and modern but there’s soft touches of elegance throughout. The watercolor strokes, the colors, and the arrangement of the site overall is perfect; I get excited every time I open it!
The font and the post layouts are also very clean and I feel as though they represent my style well! I know my eye is drawn to the tiniest of detail so having a sight that reflects my vision feels incredible.
There’s been several additions to the new blog arrangement including the side bar with features items such as what’s seen below! The I <3 to travel button even links to a Destinations page which I’ll talk more about in a moment!
Also on the side bar are links to TOP Posts and recent posts, as well as posts “For Photographers” and the most recent image displayed on my Instagram feed.
This is a screenshot of the Destinations page I mentioned previously. Basically, I LOVE to travel…and I’ve started to travel more recently for out of state weddings and sessions! So, I wanted to showcase this on the new site; this section now links to any wedding/session photographed in another state!
Two other added features on the side are the Pin It button and the “top” button…which pops up as soon as you scroll down the blog and brings you ALL the way up when clicked!
The category pages bring up all previous posts for ANY category including but not limited to: bridals, engagements, and weddings.
I feel like there’s SO much I’ve forgottten to talk about…so I suppose you’ll just have to browse around! 🙂 I’m so excited to share the new site and I truly hope that this blog is a landing spot for others. I’m blogging for my clients as well as visitor who cares to drop by. I do frequently blog topics outside personal posts and previous shoots; and I’ve made a new goal this year to put more information on the blog regarding business and photography (so stay tuned for that!)
