I was about 7 years old at the time and I can still remember standing in the hallway right outside my bedroom. My feet were planted firmly on the carpet runner below me as I raised my right arm to my forehead. With scissors in hand…I cut my hair to “make bangs.” I can only laugh when I think of my mother’s reaction as she turned the corner and caught me mid-snip only watching as the scissors cut a huge chunk of hair right up to my hairline…leaving only about a half inch of hair.
Naturally, the damage was irreversible and she could do nothing for me but wait until my hair had the chance to grow. To this day, I’m still believe that day was a testament to my spontaneity. LOL
This spontaneity is something that apparantely has not died with age. I’m now 26 and the only thing that’s changed is that I’m having a professional cut my hair rather than attempting the feat myself. 🙂 Thanks to Kristen Andrepoint, my fabulous hairstylist…I’m now ready for the summer with my new do.
Yesterday afternoon, I walked out of the salon, put on my sunglasses, ran my hands through the back of my short hair and KNEW I had made the right decision. Amelia and I both thought it’d be a good idea to update the images on my site so that my appearance reflects my new and current look!
