“Sarah was in the kitchen, mopping the floor,
When Nick pulled up and walked through the door.
Their folks saw it coming and new it was right,
The time had come and tonight was the night.
He got down on one knee and asked for her hand,
Tears in her eyes and a mop in her hand.
The answer was yes, they’ll start a new life,
Together forever as husband and wife.”
By NO means would I consider myself a poet, so I have to give full credit to Nick’s dad for the thoughtfulness in putting together this poem for Nick and Sarah. Nick, Brad’s cousin and best friend married the love of his life this past December 30th. And after shooting their engagements and Sarah’s bridal session, I was so incredibly honored to have had the opportunity to photograph their wedding with Brandon O’Neal.
Since I first met Sarah + Nick, I have been completely in awe of their relationship. Brad and I truly look up to them as a couple and I am so blessed to have them in my life. Sarah + Nick have a way of making others feel welcome, loved, and a way of continuing to love each other through thick and thin. They are the perfect example of true love and of the friendship that comes along with such a sincere committment.
During Sarah + Nick’s mass, Father told a story of a woman in her old age who was being married for the first time. And when Father asked her why she had waited so long, she responded: “I have never wanted a man who needs me. And now, I have found a man who wants me and who pushes me in the direction of where I’m supposed to be.”
I believe that Sarah + Nick have found and built this type of love: a lasting love that allows them to grow individually while still enjoying their lives together. I can’t say enough how happy I am for the two of you and how special I feel to have been asked to be a part of this day. I know how much you both mean to Brad and I am lucky to have you as friends!
I would like to give an extra special thank you Brandon O’Neal for 1) Doing such a beautiful job with the wedding 2) Allowing me to shoot with him AND enjoy the reception! 🙂
Hanging out with the guys was an interesting experience. I enjoyed being there to photograph Nick and seeing him with all of he and Brad’s good friends.
I love this picture of Casey! Below is Sarah’s handsome brother getting ready for the big day. 🙂
Just like any day at the Malagarie’s
Brad LOVES Lucy.
🙂 🙂 🙂 Nick is totally smitten!
I’m slightly biased but I was say this is an EXTREMELY handsome bridal party (especially that guy to the left of Nick.) 😉
It was so cute on the way to the wedding when everyone was singing with Ade.
I really enjoyed spending those few minutes with Sarah before she walked down the aisle.
It would be difficult to describe in words how sweet Sarah + her dad’s relationship is…so the image below will have to do:
I absolutely LOVED the setup of the church. While Brandon was in the back capturing that angle, I was able to shoot from the far right corner catching lots of emotion and laughter.
…..Mr. and Mrs. Nick Malagarie
As you will see below, there are no photos on the blog from the reception. Brandon O’Neal photographed and beautiful captured their reception so that I could also enjoy the day!
Brad and I just before the exit.
The Newlyweds!!!!!
Congratulations you two!
