It’s hard to even describe in words how fortunate and blessed I feel today. Like everyone, life has it’s ups and it’s downs but today I am feeling thankful. I am feeling thankful not only for SO many wonderful people to share this dream of mine with, but also for the dream itself. It’s crazy to think back to when I bought my very first semi-professional camera and to see how far this dream has come.
Since, not only have I developed in skill and in confidence, but I’ve also developed lasting relationships. And that is the part I love the most. I do enjoy the challenge and the ability to create lasting art of a moment that can never be recreated, capturing emotion and inserting my own perspective and eye into the photography, and more than anything I love the relationships.
I enjoy documenting the relationships between the couples I work with, the relationships between them and those they love most, and I also enjoy developing my own personal relationship with my clients, and with others including talented photographers as well.
This past week, my good friend and fellow photographer Kaylynn allowed me to join her for her underwater shoot. She was photographing a maternity session and I was happy she allowed me to be a part of the morning. I’ll have to admit that waking up for an early shoot is not necessarily my thing, but i was totally worth it.
Kaylynn and I bounced ideas off of each other and it was so much fun being able to work with another photographer, especially one as talented as she. I came dressed in capri jeans prepared to observe and by the end of the shoot I was halfway submerged in the water. 🙂
We really did have a lot of fun and Danielle was a true trooper. Danielle decided that the best way to get her to the bottom way for me to help her get down there. This was the way we came up with. lol..
Thanks to Kaylynn for these behind-the-scenes photos.
Developing relationships truly is the most priceless gift in such a beautiful job. Working with wonderful people and wonderful artists is indescrible and I feel so fortunate to have much so many incredible people along the way.
Live Simply, Love Freely,
Catherine
