Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own. ~Robert Heinlein
The notification popped up on my scratched iphone screen: Gretchen posted on your wall. I read this quote and it inspired my blog post for today.
I’ll admit. I can be a LITTLE selfish. But only SOMETIMES….ok. I’m selfish. I’ll admit. On occasion, I’d rather do what I want than what he wants….or listen to the music I want rather than what he likes.
But if being with him has taught me one thing, it’s that being selfish won’t keep a relationship. The list is endless for all the things that Brad has taught me since we met. He’s reminded me not to believe the gossip, and to never judge.
He’s forced me to appreciate and use the gifts God has given me, even when I was too scared to put myself out there on my own. And I’ve learned from watching him that life is free, careless, and enjoyable.
Happy Valentine’s Day to each of you today!!!! I hope you spend your night doing just as he does….relaxing, enjoying, and being who you are.
We spent our Saturday afternoon relaxing in City Park; he played guitar and I read till I fell asleep. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
It is always better to focus on what you can give than what you are not getting…no doubt about it! Happy V-Day Catherine!
Such a sweet and meaningful blog!! Happy Valentine’s Day to you both!
