The thing I love most about shooting is the unexpected. I love that when I show up, we’ve planning and we’ve plotted….but there’s always that bit of unknown that excites me. It can be something as simple as the challenge of lighting (either extremely bright skies or a cloudy dreary day), it can be an unexpected moment, or an interesting location stumbled upon along the way.
Last week I worked with Erica and Brad for their third session with me. And not only do I love working with them because of their sweet and subtle sense of humor, but also because Erica puts forth full effort into every session we do together. This session, she managed to get Brad to bring along an EXTREMELY interesting vintage couch and halfway through the session….a horse showed up. lol..
During their outfit change, Lance, Erica’s nephew hopped on the horse; I couldn’t resist. I got on with him and we went for a quick ride around the fields. Although he looks a little nervous here, as soon as we took off, he was itching to go faster by the second! π
I love the spontaneity of a shoot, it’s that constant challenge to approach with no pre-conceived notions or expectations that keeps things interesting.
Don’t let me fool you…Yes I do wear those boots to all my session….but NO, I am no cowgirl. I love cajun and zydeco dancing but horse back riding is NOT my forte! π π
