Since the inception of my business, my photography and my life has been focused around weddings. In a little over three years’ time, I’ve photographed over 125 weddings, traveled all over the country, and met SO many incredibly kind and wonderful people.
I’ll be 28 in a few months and as time goes on, I’ve noticed that those around me have started to transition into a new stage of life: parenthood. Most of my friends are married now and have started to grow their families. In addition, the couples that I’ve photographed since the inception of my business have either just recently gotten pregnant or have begun their families as well.
I’m seeing some of my good friends bellies grow as they get closer to their due date and others now adorable, tiny sidekicks when we hang out. It’s been absolutely amazing to see my friends change…to give up so much and love so deeply their little ones. And I’ve enjoyed witnessing it. Although I’ve not yet entered into this stage of life myself, I feel like it has really opened my eyes to see life in a different way.
I’ve been trying lately to express myself better, communicate more…and be more honest about life in general. And this is something that’s been on my mind. 🙂
This image below was taken of one of my recent wedding clients married last year. They are now expecting a little boy and since I’ve begun shooting film I’ve taken on a few more sessions per year (including anniversaries & maternities for past clients). It was really amazing seeing them and witnessing as they prepare for this new stage of life.
So, for all of you who are soon expecting or have recently entered into parenthood, congratulations! I’m in awe. <3
