After 8 years, it’s obvious: they just get each other. After only about one year of dating, Monty was deployed to Iraq. According to Dana, it was the hardest experience they’ve for their relationship but they made it through…together. Monty proposed during his one week leave and they were married shortly after Dana graduated.
The really special thing about Monty and Dana is their interaction with one another. I photograph and interact with a lot of couples…but never have I come across a couple like them. Monty is FULL…and I mean FULL of character, jokes, sarcasm, and wit. I seriously laughed the entire session. And so did Dana. But yet, their love is still so deep and real. I have to quote her here because I thought it was the sweetest thing when she told me she loves him with every INCH of her body. And I know he feels the same.
They love each other beyond the surface and connect on such a deep and meaningful level.
Dana and Monty are so comfortable in front of the camera. It took little posing make them look natural! 🙂
…It doesn’t hurt that they’re both absolutely gorgeous!
When I asked them to take the picture below I think they thought I was crazy,
but it really is one of my favorites from the session.
They laugh SO much together.
I asked Dana which she preferred, a rail road track or something like what we see below. When she said she preferred the less traditional, more unique location….I was ecstatic! I’m all about what’s different.
When I look at them, I feel like they popped out of Vogue or GQ. Seriously, they are so good looking!
And I love their style. They did a wonderful job of picking out their outfits for the session.
And no matter what I asked them to do, they just completely trusted me which is such a reassuring feeling, especially because Dana is a designer and has impeccable taste!
Toward the end of the session we made our way to a more relaxed location where Monty could take out his guitar and they could just spend time with each other. Dana tried to play as well and I grabbed the shot of their rings below when he was helping her. 🙂
This picture just looks SOOO natural! And they look so natural together and comfortable right next to one another.
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
The sunset couldn’t have been timed more perfectly.

Hands down, my favorite shot from the day…..
With this shot following SO closely…..The sky, AH! Gorgeous. Monty and Dana, you are such a pleasure to photograph!
Dana + Monty, I thoroughly enjoyed working with you! Before I met you I felt like I knew you from all of your close friends who spoke highly of you. And now, I will be that friend who speaks highly of you as well. 🙂 Thank you for allowing me into your life and sharing your life with me.
P.S. Also, thanks a TON for finding my keys in that giant field of grass. I would have been seriously out of luck!
