Having grown up in a house filled with Christmas music and tons of decor…I think I’ve caught the “Carrie Guidry Christmas contagiousness.” My mom LOOOOVVVVVEEESSSS Christmas (and even that might be an understatement).
When I moved out, I’m not going to lie, I missed it. I missed the days upon days of Christmas music playing on our living room speakers, Christmas movies every night, the smell of brownies, our colored Christmas lights and home made ornaments on our tree, and the exterior decorations that filled our yard.
So, now that I live on my own, I’m doing my best to carry on with all the Carrie Guidry traditions (which is not the easiest to master). But I did have a little bit of help…..
While we were decorating the tree, Brad disappeared into the next room to make Christmas Snowflakes…..
Brad makes my life interesting everyday. 🙂 🙂 And he made my Christmas tree look like it dropped giant sized snowflakes beneath it. I also feel like I need to give the disclaimer that in no way did I provoke him to pose for the camera in the images above.
My tree isn’t full of colors and homemade ornaments like the one I grew up with (after my mom was guilted into buying colored lights), but I feel like it suits me perfectly. Its simple in it’s color yet beautiful in its texture.
Brad bought the star this year. I’ve been in search of an angel but he says he’s bringing back the star tradition. lol….and next year, he says he’s bringing back Thanksgiving. Apparently he believes the pilgrims don’t get enough attention.
Where did you get that star? I would love to have one myself! We have an angel that simply takes up way too much of the top of tree and I’ve always wanted a star!
We picked it up from the Albertson’s on South College and Johnston in Lafayette!
