When we were little we’d spend time playing together. In the afternoons, we would make up rhymes as we played pretend in Mama Nita’s trees ; and after lunch we’d eat sweets and beg for more bubble gum.
As we grew up, rhymes turned into reality and we began learning more about life and living. And now Alice is a senior and is just a few months away from graduating and entering into college. It’s been fun growing up together and even more amazing to see Alice become so beautiful and accomplish so much.
She’s an incredible swimmer and LOVES to read. Even since she was little, she always had a book in her hands. I really enjoyed Alice’s shoot because she was so carefree and open to creativity. We also had an amazing location (thanks Adele) and a fantastic assistant (thanks Julia) π :).
The day was FREEZING. I don’t know if you remember what the weather was like last Friday but it was miserable out. So it was nice to have a warm place to shoot, with amazing light.
Alice is so confident and I really admire her wit and her style.
Adele had seriously….the most interesting objects everywhere.
GORGEOUS
I was also able to walk in Adele’s front door and immediately imagine a scenario. The one which we created below. We gathering several random objects and I was able to create a completely “Alice” location.
This is the Alice that I saw at 90% of my family gatherings. π
I like that Alice can be completely serious..
…but also completely lighthearted.

One thing I always dread in the winter is the freezing cold numbness that I feel in my hands when I hold my camera. But out of Alice came NO complaints. She was just laughing and enjoying the moment with everyone there.
And I saved my favorite collage for last. I like it because it’s cute, it’s funny, and it’s Alice. In this post you have seen a bit of what I see when I think of her. It’s hard to put most people in a box, but especially for Alice. She’s so well-rounded and has such a great personality. I truly enjoyed the time we spent together shooting….and growing up together. π
Alice,
I can’t believe that you are actually graduating and headed to college. It was a lot of fun photographing you for your senior portraits and I’m so happy to have you in my life. I hope that I get to spend more time with you…and I can’t wait to teach you to knit. π I hope you enjoyed looking at your preview from your session and I am so thankful for your trust in my creativity.
Cat
