If I could wear my yoga pants & favorite college shirt, curl up on my favorite couch and hide under a lamp with an open book all day, I’d be content. In fact, that’s what I did on Saturday. My weekends are typically filled with shooting, so when I realized that I had this past Saturday off, I ordered a new book. π
Dane Sanders book Fast Track Photographer proved to be a good read. I’d like to say that I read solely auto biographies and non-fiction but this is the furthest thing from the truth. I LOVE a good love story and enjoy completely disappearing in the characters. And I also like to read about photography…..ok, I love to.
Like, when I flew in from D.C. two weeks after Brad had already arrived back in Lafayette, he showed up at the airport….not with flowers, but with a book, “Transient Light.” For graduation, “Practical HDR,” and when I have a bad day, he buys me photography magazines. π I know the boy knows me. π
I was inspired by so many portions of the book it was hard to choose, but the two below sections I was really drawn to.
I feel like this statement came at the perfect time. I am actually closing this blog today to make my way over to sign a lease for my new office. I feel like my business has been growing thanks to the incredible clients that I have been so fortunate to work with, and I am ready to give back to them and to my clients in the future. This will provide a nice place for us to meet and a comfortable atmosphere….more details on this later.
In addition, I’m having a new website designed and many more things in store. π π
But this one is my favorite. Last night, I laid in bed and thought about why I am so happy. For the first time in my life, I know I’m doing all that I can to create positive value in the world. And by no means, do I think I’ve made it or have it all figured out because I know I’m constantly learning. But I am going to continue to work harder everyday to capture moments and to create art.
So, if by posting this, I inspire one person today to go out and do something good, then I am happy. Because Dane has done that for me.
