I am in AWE. As we have grown and our lives have changed, one thing hasn’t: my friends continue to amaze me. Their selflessness and giving attitudes really reflect the nature of their character and I am truly truly truly blessed and so thankful to have such wonderful people in my life.
This week, I received two emails. One, from my dear friend Randi Nichole and the other from my good friend Jamie Orillion. Both, speaking of their decision to give back and their request for others to help them with their efforts. If you’d care to participate in their generosity, please take this opportunity to read further:
Randi Nichole, since she was a little girl has been known to stay involved. From being festival queens to growing into a beautiful, strong woman involved in the community, she’s always found a way to lead others in the direction of positivity and goodness. On Thursday, November 10 at the Grant Street Dance Hall, Randi Nichole will be participating in a community event called Bid on a Bachelorette. The event proceeds will go to the Acadiana Childrens’ Shelter.
So, if you or someone you know would like a date with this lovely lady, a girls night out together, or would like to support the Children’s Shelter, feel free to place a bid in the name of “Randi Nichole Landry” at the following link: http://www.acadianayouthinc.org/site8.php
It’s really a WIN, WIN: help the charity and hang out with one of the coolest women I know.
The attitude of giving back in the circle that surrounds me doesn’t stop with Randi Nichole. My good friend Jamie also made a selfless and truly beautiful decision this year to give back to those in need. He’s decided to give his birthday to Clean Water.
From Jamie: “I’m turning 30 years old and instead of asking for gifts, I’m asking for donations from everyone I know. It’s not going to me, though. All of it is going to build freshwater projects for people in developing countries. Almost a billion people in the world are living without clean water — but how much are they really living? Millions contract deadly diseases from contaminated water. 30,000 people will die this week alone. The lucky ones won’t, but still have to walk hours each day to get dirty water for their families.”
Jamie has asked that in honor of his birthday, his friends, family members and those looking to give back, donate $30 for his 30th birthday to the Charity Water Organization: http://mycharitywater.org/jamie30for30
Feel free to watch this short VIMEO video on Clean Water….
Jamie and Randi Nichole, being surrounded by such wonderful friends and people like the two of you really inspires me. You are using your ability to lead in such a positive way. Thank you for including me in two beautiful acts of kindness and I hope that others are inspired by you and your efforts as well!
