It’s so much more than just a place…or a location. It’s a piece of the story, a glimpse into your life, and a chance for me to capture who you are.

For me, the location is very important. Because it’s all a part of the larger puzzle to complete the image. I’ve been thinking about this topic quite a bit lately; because I am always trying to find new locations. I’ve never been one to enjoy things that are the same; in fact, I’m quite the opposite. I like spontaneity and the challenge of new situations.

So I pulled a few images to create examples of what I mean when I say that I want these locations to reflect who you are. If you have a session with me in the future, please start this conversation with me when you’re ready. I love conceptualizing for a shoot and understanding more of what you’re looking for! 🙂

The small things in life, the feel and simple things of country living…..that’s what I think of when I think of Adam and Ellen. Adam LOVES the outdoors, and SO DOES Ellen. This location really spoke of their common interests, and their passion for enjoying life together, in the wilderness.

Ellen especially loved the moss here. If you check out her bridals, you’ll see how she is NOT afraid to be outdoors, enjoying life…even in her wedding dress. Yes, and she can really shoot that gun she was holding. 😉 It’s no wonder that Adam saw her bridals and jumped into the air yelling, “I LOVE MY WIFE!!!!!”

From the beginning, Robyn and Scott wanted a romantic theme for their images; something that spoke of their genuine personalities and their love for one another. They spend their lives in surgery and scrubs, so I’m sure it was nice for them to dress up for the occasion and enjoy a romantic afternoon together.

It really doesn’t get much better than a place like this for the groom….Krista and Curtis agreed to get married at Atchafalaya at Idlewild a well-known golf course in Patterson, LA. And yes, Curtis loves golf. The location was really a no-brainer for us, so we spent the day driving around the golf cart above. To top it off, I was able to drive a golf cart for the first time in my life!!!

Summar and Stewart’s journey has been nothing but adventurous from the start. And in a way, this spot has become a sort of landing point for them. This property is the place were Summar spent much of her time growing and a place that they’ve grown as a couple. Stewart proposed to Summar here…standing on the porch of Ms. Mary’s small spot in the back. And so, naturally this become a landing spot for their engagements.

Gretchen and Dustin met on the campus of Northwestern University. I traveled all the way to Natchitoches to capture a piece of who they are. This specific spot isn’t just any boardwalk…it’s a place where they walk their two small dogs, catch up on life, and reminisce on the past six years of life and love together.

Country living and loving is a reality for Beth and George…..who will be married this weekend! This yellow truck actually sits on his property. And I loved that this is really where George grew up. Beth considers herself a city girl, but she seems to fit in quite nicely on George’s farm, in his arms.

So, at the end of the day, it’s not about just the location or the place. It’s about the story. I can always find something interesting or beautiful, it’s just especially nice when it has meaning and reflects who you are.

What a great way to write this! It’s so true- the location is a vital part of any photo shoot. Great pics and a great story, Catherine. I especially loved reading about each couple’s reason for their location.
