October 30th, one year ago in Cozumel, Erin sang karaoke and Lyall won their cruise ship’s Bingo. And later, on that freezing cold night on the deck over water, Lyall asked Erin to be his wife.

Their relationship started in band at my own Alma Mater Berwick High. What began as a friendship over time turned into more. And over the years, they became best friends and now husband and wife.

Erin did not wipe the smile from her face on Saturday during her Fall wedding. She was finally able to implement the artistic vision she and her mother had long ago and marry the man of her dreams. Lyall found every way he could to comfort those nerves that she had about being the center of attention (including sending her a beautiful bouquet of flowers).

Erin describes her wedding day as cheerful, handcrafted, and modern and she used the brown and fall colors to really make the Halloween weekend feel warm, beautiful, and full of love.

I love the pre-wedding gifts and thoughts. And this was a sweet one. Lyall knew Erin would be nervous, so he reassure her with flowers prior to seeing everyone. He wanted to remind her that everything would be ok. 🙂

And this is Erin. 🙂

It’s funny how over time, people remain the same. I’ve known Erin since we were young and she’s still the carefree, easy-going woman that she always was. And her colors reflect her warm and artistic personality.

I found it really touching that Erin chose to have her mom and ONLY her mom be a part of her getting preparation. She wanted her mom to be the one to lace her dress and to fasten her necklace. They are very close. The pearls belonged to Lyall’s mother. Mrs. Marie’s father bought them for HER mom when he was in the navy and they were passed down. And now to Erin.

But Erin’s favorite wedding purchase were her custom converse shoes. They even have the date on the back to reflect this special day. They were also her something blue. 🙂

And this is Lyall. Erin and Lyall agreed to take a more casual approach for their outdoor wedding. The men wore brown vests with no jackets and Erin opted to forego her veil for a headpiece. Both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen were SO easy to work with.

And all the little moments throughout that Erin and her mom took so much time handling turned out beautifully.

As the guests trickled in, there were lots of hugs, and greetings from friends, and tissues held in hand….ready for use.

And there she was. As Erin made her way down the aisle, Lyall teared up and Erin let out her happiness with laughter. 🙂

And there were a ton of beautiful moments during the ceremony, including when Erin and Lyall mixed their colored sand together,

each poured prior by their mothers.

And as the sun set, Pastor Brian Head reminded Lyall and Erin how beautiful and unique it was to see a couple so young, yet so true, so caring and so in love.

After the ceremony ended, friends, family, and loved ones trickled into the reception. There were cupcakes, delicious desserts, and custom hot sauce bottles. Erin’s a graphic designer so her knack for creativity definitely paid off.

And Lyall’s Halloween cake was totally fitting and made me laugh at the play on words and the figurines.

Erin and Lyall’s first dance as husband and wife…

Their families are so close. I especially love the image in the middle where Erin’s dad kisses her on the forehead.

How lucky did I feel to be there….seeing an old friend happy as ever. She was surrounded by her closest friends and family, all laughing, having fun, and enjoying the celebration and the chance to get together and have a blast!!!!

🙂

There was plenty of dancing, and I even had the chance to see some old friends again!

Before…..

After……. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Lyall and Erin left their wedding to honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas with full intention to enjoy the beautiful weather, rent mopeds, and explore the land.

Erin and Lyall,

Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer. It was SO nice being there to see so many familiar faces and a happy ending between the two of you. I wish you both the best as you journey to the beautiful beaches and in the many many days and years that follow. Erin, you haven’t changed a bit and I am honored to have been there for you on your wedding day.

The photo’s and narrative are absolutely beautiful and bring one to tears!!! Just wanted to let you know, the pearls are from Ms. Marie (Lyall’s mom), the rest is correct. They were bought by my father when he was in the navy, stationed in Okanowa and were a gift to my mother, who then passed them on to me. I am sooo looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures. You did an amazing jobd. You are definately an extremely talented photographer & it shows!!
