In architecture school, our professors spoke of contrast: the contradiction of old and new. We studied renovated architecture with old/broken/detoriating brick facades that juxtaposted new, modern, steel and glass interiors. It was so interesting and grew to be my one of my favorite aesthetics for design.
When I first met Christy, she came into my office with images of inspiration for her wedding day. She had modern, feather filled bouquets, and antique lace detailing. I thought her style was unique…her love for mixing old with new was different and a wedding style that I had not photographed before.
For Christy’s bridals, I knew her dress was an antique style…and yet, it didn’t surprise me when she chose to have her bridals photographed at ACA. This modern style architecture contrasted her vintage lace veil and antique style gown. And this is the exact reason her session was chosen for publication.
Publications like Modernly Wed look for wedding inspiration that is unique and sets a bride’s style apart from the rest. I am so excited that they have chosen to feature Christy’s session.
