“I DO” Do You?

I love books, not just any books, but books that I can read and learn from. I’m a business book junky; call me a geek, but I’d rather read Timothy Ferriss’ “Four Hour Work Week” than the newest Dan Brown novel. Don’t get me wrong, I love my occasional fiction novel, but I REALLLYYY love business. At one point, I even got into audio books so that I could work and “read” at the same time.

Speaking of business, if you are a photographer, you should consider attempting the multi-task of editing and pumping up your speakers with the I DO Wedding event. Created by Sarah Petty, this is a three day event hosting some of the best in the photography industry. The best part is….yesterday was the first day of three days….and today (starting at 11AM until 3PM Central time), they’re replaying the first four speakers for F-R-E-E. Yup! That’s right. 🙂

I had the chance to listen to the firstthree3 speakers for Day 1 yesterday, and these were my thoughts:

Christopher Becker: Founder of the [b] school spoke on creating a remarkable experience. In fact, at one point in his speaking he made this statement:

“Do Whatever It Takes to Deliver an Outstanding and Remarkable Experience to Your Clients.”

I heard Becker speak for the first time LIVE last year at WPPI 2011 and I was really impressed at his ability to connect. He connected with the crowd he was speaking to and it was obvious when he spoke that he connected with his clients. I enjoyed listening to Becker speak on I Do Weddings because he emphasized how important customer service is.

Zach + Jody Gray: I can’t even remember the first time I heard this couple speak, but I can assure you that their impression on me began that very first day. Zach + Jody have magnetic personalities and have no problem expressing who they are through their blog. I can specifically remember one video that they made a while back…simply to show their love for poprocks. YES! Pop Rocks. 🙂

For their slot on I DO Weddings, they speak about their means of Money Free Marketing. They really leverage their personalities and their passion for photography to book the clients that they want without traditional means of advertising and marketing.

Laura Novak: The first I heard of Laura Novak was through this event. I thought her message on being a success in the field of photography was excellent. She speaks about setting up expectations and following through after the wedding event. I really enjoyed her straight forward delivery and her passion for photography.

Joy + Jules Bianchi Brown: I heard Joy + Jules speak briefly during the Women’s Panel at WPPI 2011 this year, but sadly I missed their speech yesterday on Album Creation. HOWEVER, Sarah Petty made the announcement today on twitter that they would be replaying DAY 1 of I DO weddings (SEE BELOW).
