TJ took all the steps necessary to ensure that his proposal to Rachel was a complete surprise. Rachel had dropped a few hints on the style ring she loved so TJ took it upon himself to choose it on his own. He handpicked the one he felt fit her best and even borrowed a ring from her without her knowing to ensure that it was sized properly! [So romantic.]
Then on Christmas Day in front of both their families…he asked her to be his wife.
For their engagement session, Rachel + TJ wanted to photograph in Maurepas, a place where they enjoy spending their freetime. To get to the specific location for shooting (a chapel they adored), we had to take their pontoon. Being from Morgan City, I felt right at home in the swamp.
It was a beautiful day and Brad came along as well so we had fun hanging out with Rachel, TJ, and their families. The boat ride was especially enjoyable and I’m thankful to their families for being so accomodating.
When we got back to TJ’s, Rachel + TJ lit a Chinese lantern and sent it off with wishes for their future. I’m excited to share a their engagement session below:
Rachel + TJ not only incorporated a location that was personal, but tiny details that were meaningful too.
I had to do a little convincing to get Rachel to put her feet in the water…but then, I think she warmed up a bit to the idea. 🙂
You two are so sweet!
Rachel + TJ are so creative. They even painted their boots for the Save-The-Date cards.
Lighting the lanterns was nothing short of eventful…right, guys?
I’m thankful Brad was able to come along. It was nice having him there to help and he was even able to grab a few behind-the-scenes shots like these two below. Ya’ll didn’t know I was from Morgan City. 😉
