In October of last year, I ventured into the city of Ontario for the SiteHouse Go+Live Event hosted by Promise Tangeman and her team of incredible talent. The moment I walked to the door I was greeted by two other lovely women in attendance and immediately replaced my nervousness with excitement about the launch of a new website.
If you’re not familiar with the concept of the SiteHouse Go+LIVE event…the idea is to choose a design creation from Sitehouse, learn to use Showit, and create a custom site of your own ready to launch at the end of Day 2! It was insane. Seriously. I don’t remember working like that since Architecture school. The first day we arrived and immediately jumped in. It was truly a head first dive into site design….And it was awesome.
Promise hosted one-on-ones with the attendees to answer specific questions and problem solve any custom design concepts, and her team was there to help as we worked. Also, as we became familiar individually with the software we were able to help each other some as well (I really loved how it felt so much like architecture studio).
The first night, I literally got back to my hotel and worked until I couldn’t keep my eyes open. The next morning, we made it back to Promise’s house, had breakfast and started again. By lunch…we were working with the Showit Team to transfer our current site information and at 2:00 we were launching websites!
For some in attendance, it was their first website ever. For others, it was a chance to revamp what they had.
I chose to attend the SiteHouse Event because although I LOVE working with a designer, I also like having the ability to make small changes here and there to my website. Coming from a design background I knew that I could create a vision I felt strongly about but just didn’t know how! With the combination of the Showit software and the GoLive event, I was able to design and build my current site which I absolutely LOVE.

Your website looks neat and clean. I’m not familiar with show it, I once won a free year of show it and gave it away lol. But, it looks like ya’ll know what to do with it. Props!
